He should buy more !

I agree like 55 gallons.....

Some think I am nuts but years ago Stihl sold 2 stroke mix oil in 55 gallon drums. I always thought who goes through oil that fast they need a 55 gallon drum. That is 2750 gallon of fuel.......

Somehow I am thinking that the prices today compared to when they were available here are slightly different. :)

I am 30 miles down river from Arsenal Island which is an island in the Mississippi River. It has been home to the Rock Island Arsenal since the 1800's. During the height of the war it employed around 12,000 civilians in Army manufacturing. Today it is down to about 6000. They used to have surplus auctions there all the time. You could get things reasonable. There were many folks that made good livings buying the surplus and re-homing it. The machine tools that came from there were amazing. After September 11, 2001 all live on site auctions ended. They went to online auctions and for inspection you had to get clearance and it was a guided tour. We went over in 2004 to look for some CNC mills and 600 amp welders. The warehouses of top quality machine tools were amazing.

What does a running 6x6 go for these days?

Ran when parked $2500

Running maybe around 4-5? Kinda rough though. Up to 10-15 for nice ones.

I got my driver for $2k and did trans and alt. Nice truck. One of my best investments…lots of fun, smiles, and work done with it.

With all due respect, I have to ask who in the hell is this "Dall" or "Dalas" character I keep hearing about? I have been here since March 2017 but was just hit and miss for years. I just got more active here after another site went "woke" and told me to pound salt. Since I have been here I hear a lot about "Dall" and "Dalas" but I am clueless.

I would love to have one. It does not have to be nice, just fun. The problem is they are NLA here. The monster truck guys bought them up for the axles. If there was a running one in California for $5000 it would cost exponentially more in trucking. Just using San Diego as a base that is 1900 miles away. Years ago it was $2 a loaded mile. Now most are at $5 a loaded mile or more. That is $9500 in shipping. One of my sons is the heavy hauler for the Deere construction equipment dealership. Based on what he said yesterday they charge for local pickups it would be $18,000 for him to run out there with a RGN.

Yeah not happening

I know mine wouldn’t work, but I’m sure there are some out there.

Years ago when we used to run up for the saws races northwest of Baraboo Wisconsin there was a abandoned military base south of there. There was a guy along the route that used to sell a lot of military surplus stuff but of course that dried up when the base dried up. Yesterday two of my sons and I were at a tractor show and I pointed out where my cousin and his friend used to set up selling machine tools from the arsenal here. It is all gone now.

Who knows where the $400 hammer of 1984 is now......chit I guess that is political :)
