What is the beat way to remedy this simington 450 arm slop?

@srcarr52 has the skill and familiarity to get that sorted. I can’t imagine using it the way it is now

Does that have the needle bearing thrust washers on the top and bottom of the arm or is it the old version without them?

Mine doesn't have any slop in the arm at all. Of course it is possible to deflect it a little. And.....I use that to get an occasional odd cutter just right.

Sadly.....I rarely get a chance to use it these days.

I did get a chance to look at it today. There is only one washer on one side of the flat bearing...it obviously needs two. Looks like it has been run this way for some time. The bearing has made a small race in the arm itself. Lol. I bet I could tighten it down a bit more with the proper washer/bearing combo, and it would get rid of the majority of the slop, and still rotate freely.

Yes, those needle thrust bearings should have a hardened washer on wither side. If it has ate too far into the arm I can weld it back up and knock it flat.

That doesn't look that bad. I'd get the proper bearings/washers and go from there. You might be able to carefully knock that area flat and be on your way.

Did a little work with the rs2 today. Took some exl that had a couple chords of wood on factory grind from round to square.
