Squared up this Raisman .325x.050 It has several tanks on it, in oak and hard maple. Noodle cut before picture really buffed it out! It's on a 16' bar cutting 8-11' wood except for some noodling cuts. I'm tickled with the way it has held up with such knife edge angles.
Thought I would mention, I have not touched the rakers on this chain (yet) and it continues to cut and self feed. Now, I might be able to improve it, but it is pretty decent as is. The forward lean probably deserves moast of the credit.

So the 45* stays sharper longer than the 30* cutter?
I hear you Duane. Lol.

Finally got around to changing up some angles. Here's where I'm at now and what I'm going to try running for a while. Work chain....

Made a couple test cuts in some hickory. Cut nice and smooth. Bored well. Good self feed, but not too aggressive. For the first cut and a half at least... :facepalm:20200321_171115.jpg 20200321_171103.jpg

Rainy day here so had a chance to try practice with the Simington.
Lowered the swing arm assembly and that seemed to help with the issue of getting into the tie straps.
Also shimmed the motor to get both sides to the same height.
Still reading this thread so more to learn. Looking forward to trying out some chains.

That left side looks like it’s low, which way are you turning the wheel? Square should be ground to the inside of the tooth.

These aren’t all off the same chain. Just trying some different things. Wheel is turning into the chain per the instructional videos I’ve seen. Definitely on the very beginning of the learning curve here.
