I’m totally against the diesel emissions crap, That stuff is horrible for the motor.

Just EGR. Nothing like taking dirt and throwing it strait back into the engine. The rest I'm ok with. It is nice to go down the road behind a diesel truck and not throw up because of the stink.

To me, we're in the diesel engine equivalent of about where we were in 1985 with cars - we have figured out some things that work for emissions control, but we haven't fully figured out the reliability aspect yet. I think with time, everything will be reliable again, but not quite yet.

I think you're spot on.

If the EGR tube can be removed easily, try braising a washer (to reduce hole size) over the tubes hole reducing the EGR flow amount. It seemed to increase the power level a bit as a side bonus to reducing the burnt combustion crap from ...

Not sure in the tractor world but in the auto world the flow through the EGR and cooler is monitored by the ECM. An incorrect flow will result in a check engine light and possible reduced power mode.
It might be completely different in the off road usage than I'm accustomed to.

My tractor uses a delta pressure sensor to monitor EGR flow. That's a check engine light waiting to happen.

I also have 4 more years of warranty till I can mess with any of that stuff. Then hopefully find someone to turn it off.

View attachment 357622 Anyone use bucket skids , just curious how well they like them , bought a pair to try out have a long gravel driveway and some other uses for them .

I was looking at making some for my skidsteer.

Currently working on something I can use without removing the teeth from my bucket..

I took an old 2pc rear propshaft from an Acadia and welded them together.
Torched some notches so the teeth go inside the pipe.
I torched out a couple plates I'm going to weld to the pipe that will run back to the bucket between the teeth and bolt the contraption onto the bucket.
I'll have no money and about an hour into it so no loss if it doesn't work like I'm hoping..

Just need to weld the plates to the pipe, then finish bolting it on.
Just held with self tappers for now.

I'll have about an hour into it.
If it lasts 1 winter and keeps the bucket from digging while I'm moving snow, I'll be ok with it.

Otta work just fine [emoji106]

Well, this old friend has come to live with us. 1970 Massey Ferguson 165 purchased new by my grandfather. Spent a lot of hours mowing and raking with it, and now my kid can too. Note, it is a 2wd tractor but it acquired lugged front tires at some point when my sister had it.
