Doesn't sound very "eco" friendly.
What crap bing pushed by the "ECO" excuse is truly ecological? o_O

It is mostly about marketing and selling new products and getting the old fully functioning products scrapped.

I am for eco-friendliness, I recycle, I try to save energy - but too much of the eco-friendly stuff being pushed is anything but eco-friendly once every aspect is included into that ECO-equation. :(

I’d sure rather follow a new diesel with a DPF than a stinky ass old diesel blowing black smoke everywhere.

I hate the *dipsticks that tune their trucks to dump fuel for no other reason to be "cool". I am impressed by late model diesels as how clean their exhaust pipes are now. Super clean, but egrs can kiss my azz. Nothing like putting dirt into the engine intentionally.

Thats all the particulates (soot) from the exhaust.
I know, its nice one one end..environment, and power robbing, engine destroyer on the other....I would like to do a delete on mine...but don't want to screw up my warranty.

Must have misunderstood your response. You meant the oil is very dirty at change time?

Mines pretty clean now at 5-6k and I run it to 10k. It used to be nasty within 3000 miles.

It was a rusty mess when I got it but it's pretty solid now. It's an old truck but I really love it.

Dont try to church it up son.

I recently scored this 2012 2500hd.
Needs a transmission, along with a grocery list of other stuff.

158k miles, the truck spent it's life pulling fertilizer spreaders.
I will pick away at it here and there and when my oldest turns 16 in a year and a half, she will have a pretty decent truck to drive by then.
