Thinking semi serious race saw here for stock apperance class.

Anyone ever tried drilling LOTS of little holes in the front cover to vent it out front without needing to chop one big hole that may let stuff in?

Think you got the keep it going award
P&c look good. Tank good. Found base gasket leak but gonna put new seals and bearings. Have other new parts. May get running with franken exterior. [emoji4]

Ugly saws are the best saws no scratches or dust to worry about. They also are th he saws that make the best sleepers

Not my saw but wish it was
There is a thread on here on the build and it's an open pipe exhaust.

Will see if I can find it
Well in the northern states the ugly saws are the ones that don't play nice. Ported. Alky. Or nitro. And loud as *f-word

Most guys don't realize how hard it is to lay down beads on these. They are loaded with impurities and are thin metal.

Think I've said it before but it's like trying to weld on dang marshmallows
I've welded a few with my old Miller MIG, and it was pretty easy... you basically spot weld it all the way around. If you hold the trigger too long it will blow a hole in the muffler, though. This is a @Red97 deflector on a 365 Special muffler, and it took all of about ten minutes, start to finish.
