Definitely interested in the feed back of the three point spikes.

I think you should try some gold paint. I’m curious how @HYPERSAWS cerakoted muffler holds up.Nutserts lasted 300 hours for me. I still think they are ok to use I guess... I just wouldn’t expect them to hold up like a weld or braze would. View attachment 289719New muffler got a welded on deflector thanks to @Mattyo. Just have to paint it. View attachment 289717

Yup, that was done. It just appears that it wasn’t because it lifted up when it failed. But thanks for the insight Kevin, your definitely right on that.Forming the deflector to the muffler shape will extend the nutsert/muffler life
What benefits does cerakote have over normal paint? Doesn’t retain heat? I’ve heard of that stuff but don’t know what it is.I think you should try some gold paint. I’m curious how @HYPERSAWS cerakoted muffler holds up.
That’s one I did? Looks like it. That’s interesting. Looks like the can itself tore at the hole.Nutserts lasted 300 hours for me. I still think they are ok to use I guess... Those mufflers are paper thin...Yup, I think maybe on a thicker can it would have lasted longer.
I’m not sure of all the benefits...we just have access to a local guy doing it for a good price. It certainly seems more durable than normal paint. We will see how well it holds up.What benefits does cerakote have over normal paint? Doesn’t retain heat? I’ve heard of that stuff but don’t know what it is.
Yup I agree. Welding or brazing them seems to be the best option if you are going to use the saw hard. Just have to be careful not to burn through I guess. My stock 572 has a mig welded muffler mod. This ported 572 has a tig welded one. Tig welded one looks a bit better imo. Smoother. Both ways work though I guess. I dunno anything about welding... I leave that to Matt lol. I would like to learn how to do it at some point though. Those mufflers are paper thin...
Sounds cool, do you have pictures of it? I like the way powder coat looks. Is it similar to that?I’m not sure of all the benefits...we just have access to a local guy doing it for a good price. It certainly seems more durable than normal paint. We will see how well it holds up.
I like that alot. Interested to see how that cerakote holds up
