Truth is their trannies were actually well built, there epic fail was lowering the operating pressure to make it shift "nicer". Put a shift kit in out of the gate, and it'll run with that Allison, and with a better power pack!
When I towed my 24000 pound lull around, it was with a 24 valve auto. Try that with your dmax...[emoji41]
My Duramax would tow your Dodge truck with your Lull trailer. LOL. [emoji41]
Everyone knows Dodge trucks Achilles Heel is their trannys. They are the worst of the 2 big trucks.
They can be built stronger and better, as any of them can. But stock from the dealer, Ford's are much better.

Fixxed.
I like that blue...
Not truck will stop that kind of weight. It’s all in the trailer brakes.

They can stop it. It's just how fast.
What's trailer brakes?
It's much nicer with them but I've hauled tractors, cattle, and hay without them. Probably pushing over 20k a few times.Optional equipment?? At least at a few places I️ worked in years past.

Maybe on a flat road. But 24000 pounds behind a 9k truck on a hill... no contest.
