The Allison 1000 I think is really strong. When built, they are totally bulletproof.
I remember years back the duramax guys had to swap in dodge transmission to drag race. Now they have them figured out and totally billet internals. These were 1200 hp and up back then

I must be the it person who thinks the Allison sucks. The Ford 5r110 and the new 6 speed auto is much better driving to me.
That Ford tranny is Stout stock..... probably going to open a can up but.

I would own a 6.0 no problems.

Studs, EGR delete, oil cooler relocate, are my steps to long life

The Ford 6.0s need lots of upgrades, but when built right are very strong. LOUD, but strong. They eat fuel injectors for breakfast. Fuel injectors are the 6.0 weak link.

There is a few weak links not denying it lol, Head bolts, FICM, Hot no restart, oil leaks, oil cooler, Casting inside the block, etc

With Heui oil changes regularly are required. Also you can not throw parts at a 6.0 to fix a problem which sadly is why they get a bad rep because people will throw multiple sets of injectors and parts in and still not have the problem curred.

Truly is an engine that requires patience and diagnostics, You have to understand the system. The days of just cracking a line to see if an injector is bad are gone sadly.

Deere actually does not recommend doing that on some machines due to possibly contaminating the system.

Know of one that just has studs and get delete for bulletproofing.

Has 170c.c injectors, high flow up pipes, atlas tune. Exhaust, stock turbo though. Guy isn't easy on it with close to 230k. It's his main truck for everything around the farm, hauling hay, corn, cattle machines, off road cattle checks, plowing driveways.

Actually just puked one stick due to dreaded oil cooler.

Truck definitely barks though lol

Agreed, have never been a ally 1000 fan.

Excellent shot placement.

Thanks, it blew right through him at 30 yds. He only went 20 yds, stopped an looked around (don't think he had a clue what had happened), then bedded down and it was over.

Very pleased with the Center Point Sniper 370, and Cabelas currently has em on sale for $250, IMO a great deal.

The older 12v were their better motor. Now their trannys. Well....That's another story for another day. [emoji106]

I drive a Chevrolet Duramax! Awesome motor and Allison tranny are stout!

Truth is their trannies were actually well built, there epic fail was lowering the operating pressure to make it shift "nicer". Put a shift kit in out of the gate, and it'll run with that Allison, and with a better power pack!
When I towed my 24000 pound lull around, it was with a 24 valve auto. Try that with your dmax...[emoji41]

My Duramax would tow your Dodge truck with your Lull trailer. LOL. [emoji41]

Everyone knows Dodge trucks Achilles Heel is their trannys. They are the worst of the 3 big trucks.
They can be built stronger and better, as any of them can. But stock from the dealer, Chevy and Ford are much better.

I'll second that notion Mike! And we don't always agree on truck stuff.... lol. Personally I'd still rather have a manual for pulling a trailer
