Just a ported 545, after doing a bunch of 550xp and 545's, I'm not sure if the 550 is really worth the extra money. The 545 is more than 200€ cheaper in germany than the 550xp!

Is there any difference in the power once their ported? I have a 545 my brother has a 550. I can’t tell much difference in the two usually the chain makes the difference. The 550 seams to make a little more noise.

Any videos of the ported 620p?

Thanks @huskihl for the advice on the spike. Wasn’t wasting $ again for the standard spike... so went ahead and modified the west coast one. I liked the added muffler protection from the taller and larger west coast spike vs standard one... the problem was that as soon as the bottom point touched wood it was jumpy. Particularly in hardwood it’s aggravating if your putting in felling notches for example. In softwood it wasn’t really a issue. Ran into this problem with west coast spikes in the past on other various saws before. Now I know to just modify that bottom tooth to be shorter. Problem solved. Same log as before, I slapped on another b/c I had and the wood size increased, so I couldn’t compare the cut times fairly to before... but it is way more user friendly now.

Myself on every saw, i tune right up to the lean scream then back it off. Its something i gotta know where the edge is. Then i know where i want to be. If im doing a ton of limbing i will tune very close to the edge so i get the overrev i like and it wont take much to clean up with agood chain. I wo find bigger saws seem to like it and make much more torque further away from the edge. Little saws 55cc and under dont mind as much living closer to the edge. As long as you keep heat in check. Ie clean cooling fins good fuel and mix oil. I also tend to go for a plug 1 number colder then stock. It seems the older saws have more cooling fins per cc then the newer ones and likely cool better as a result. The new huskys and stihls with this new lay back cylinder designs sure dont seem to have enough fins on the jug for my taste. They seem much shorter and dobt go down the jug very far atall. I know i always speak about my jonny 625s thru 670s but those have tons of fins but ive seen it many times jug temps over 400. To me thats aweful hot and prefer them to be closer to 325-350.

Husky offers most filters in fine mesh #44 micron, nylon mesh #80 micron, and felt. I get confused easily, so I just remember bigger number lets through bigger particles. More air too :)

25 micron for the orange on 562. They also have the smaller filter version for the 550xp.

Pretty sure bigger number is finer holes, so bigger number restricts larger particles more than lower.
