Tuned right at the 13,500 limiter. Ive played around with the tune on it before, it makes more power tuned at the limiter slightly fat than past it. At least in stock engine form with muff mod.
My Makita is the same way. It seems to run best just off the limiter

Did you port your 046 Mason? Or just the basic BGD, TA, etc.
Those things along with widened the ex, more intake timing, cleaned up the piston windows/casting, got rid of the lip/casting in the intake port and lower transfer. Did a few other things but that’s about it. The saw has the D cylinder, 1309 coil and the carb has the .70 jet. It’ll 4 stroke to 14,600 with a slight 4 stroke, makes the most power at 13,600-14k however. I wouldn’t call what I did a real port job. I consider a port job cutting base/squish or turning a popup to raise the compression considerably over stock.

Tell you guys what the big spike on 562 is coming off. Can’t stand how jerky the west coast spikes make saws act in hardwood. They do protect the muffler better... but stall way easier.

13500 Seems a bit low for RPMs to me on a 460 with some work done to it.
Maybe with a tighter squish and base cut it would be even stronger.

I cut the spike on my 460. Just gotta get it in some wood to see if it makes a difference.
It’s aggravating isn’t it? In softwood it ain’t a problem... hardwood it’s a nuisance. I bet I could shave a second alone off the 562 time from fixing the spike.

I thought it would tune higher, but it has more torque tuned there interestingly.

The points are all a bit long, but try shortening just the bottom one. Many times, once the lower point hits, it locks up a small saw. But by the time you get to the heart of the log, there are enough cutters and rakers in the wood to keep it from bogging

That is what I keep saying regarding my large frame Dolmar's.
100-200rpm under the limiter is their happy place in stock form and/or with muffler mod.
Although my PS-6400 is too rich just off the limiter, but she still performs admirably.

Just saying . . .

Just a ported 545, after doing a bunch of 550xp and 545's, I'm not sure if the 550 is really worth the extra money. The 545 is more than 200€ cheaper in germany than the 550xp!

I think it would be interesting to try a 545 ported with the 550 coil/software.
