The little 262 performed valiantly as a noodle machine. Gotta clean up for day now.

Nice comparison, the 562 seemed at it limit, the 461 looked like it would have had enough torque to be dogged in and been faster and the 046 looked like it had chain speed and good torque! Nicely done19 seconds17.9 seconds16.5 seconds..... 562 is ported, 461 has a DP cover, 046 I modified. Same 84 DL chain 7 pin rim. The wood is maple.
Troof!Somebody lend the good dr. a raker file... Or not!
I doubt it in that smaller wood. It seem to carry great rpm with the 8. No reason to swap to a 7 unless your cutting bigger wood.Handles a 8 well, it would however be faster with a 7. 14k no load/10.5k in wood. It’ll hold 11k with a 28” 7 pin buried, loads it less than the 8 pin on a 24”. I find it cuts fastest loaded at 9500-10k in the wood.
Using the right tool for the job is what it comes down to. A good 60 cc is a fun saw. Great power to weight, perfect 20” saw.I hear ya, my moded ms361 is set up with 20” 8 pin, I threw a 28”7 and was suprised at how well it pulled it, But the balance was horrible! I just like a 20” on a 60cc saw, I skip over to the 28” light on the 460-461, I don’t like my 461r with a 20” if feels wrong! Lol
Tuned right at the 13,500 limiter. Ive played around with the tune on it before, it makes more power tuned at the limiter slightly fat than past it. At least in stock engine form with muff mod.Nice Mason. The tune in the 461 seemed a bit fat. You may have been able to turn up the wick a bit and get a faster cut. [emoji106]
