I think I might have this thing on the finishing end of the build. It's running square ground chisel off the roll with an 11 or 12 pin rim.

That saw doesn't even sound like it's working that hard knocking them cookies in the dirt.

when I got it back from Te4xas it was supposedly a hot build, but I suspect it was just stock with a Raisman heavy crank, an unlimited nova 2 module and the governor of the carb deleted.
Jim sent me a tuned up carb that was bored and I installed it and it gave me about 1000 additional RPM but the saw just wouldn't "turn up".
At least 4 guys smarter than me messed with the tune and we all decided it just wasn't built fast.
I knew Jim liked to work outside the box and on a wide variety of wacky saws so I asked and he said he would massage ol' Rita and try to get some decent RPMS from her.
Previously I had at one time installed a 15 pin rim and it pulled it without effort but still had low RPMs.
Currently I think it is wearing a 12 pin and a stock square chain and modified bar that Kevin and I appropriated from Bob's stash in Oregon to play with :)
I plan to send Jim a tach, a few larger rims and a wide tail bar with a decent chain to play with this weekend.

What all did you change on it Jim?
It was basically a very clean, fully refurbished, un-ported saw when I put it on the bench. I did a basic port job for round one but then tore it back down for more. The second round I widened and raised the exhaust a degree, enlarged the intake manifold to match the carb better, opened up the piston, and bumped the timing.
I had it all back together and noticed a circlip sitting on the bench! ... instead of running it I had to spend another 30 minutes fabricating a cylinder gasket and cleaning off the previous one.

I'd like to see what a 7 tooth 1/2" pitch set up would do to race wood.

I left the circlip on bench on a little husky 350 I went through recently myself :(. Thankfully I saw it. Lol

First cuts/shake down run. Tuned a little fat to be safe. Totally rebuilt ms460. Running an 8pin and an aggressive square ground chain in sticky pine.

Can hear the rings seat around 1:20 if I’m not mistaken. In cut rpm sounded like it was higher.

That could be. The saw was completely rebuilt. New bearings etc. I've run about a 1/2 tank through it so far.

Mels saw. Round file. Held 11500 in cut. Down to 10500 at times. Last cut i pushed to 8500 to see what it had.

Went into wood at 14500 and came out at 15700 first cut. Fattened it up. Doesnt even have a tank on it yet. All new parts.

8 pin 3/8
