Saw video thread

That's what I figured. Only saw that does that for me. No flywheel whine with the others?

I notice a little with the 372 and 394/395, it’s not as noticeable though. 461 does it as well and I don’t hear any on 661.

Hmmm. I will have to run my 460 and see. But I am pretty sure it does not. Maybe poly flywheel is quieter?

After I put dp cover on 461 it was harder to hear it over the increased exhaust noise.

Cool comparison video. I wonder why all 660s sound like a turbo whine? Mine does the same.

Ya all 660 wine...you would to if you had a plastic flywheel! Lol I wonder it the old 066 wine with an aluminum flywheels? Or the China 660’s, those have an aluminum flywheel, do they wine?

Seems to me 5 series saws whine as well. So does my 361 for that matter.

It's the recoil fan. If you video from the other side, they don't do it

Mine used to whine, polyflywheel.., not the best video of my 660 using std 95ron pump fuel

It was up against this 661, same bar and chain used. Although the 661 uses aspen fuel

It wasn’t me sawing,, it was a mate who wanted to compare his and my saw. I forgot to say the wood was some seasoned horse chestnut 2’ wide and about 21” deep. Used a 36” bar Stihl chain

That thing is RIDICULOUS!!! There are 3 trees in my back yard just quivering in fear for when that saw gets here.......
