Looks strong. How’s it compare to your other 50cc saws? I’m assuming it’s still breaking in.
It’s right there with a ported 346. And really light! Easily obtainable and reasonably priced. I’ve lost track of how many tanks are through it, which means I grab it often :D
I mostly cut oak... the wood in video is poplar. Not really speed wood, but softer than oak or maple for sure.

Big saw stuffs...

I liked this video quite a bit , the sound of the big Stihl engines are really unique, fantastic power!
I put quite a bit of compression in my clone 090 build and I understand why you didn't with a work saw but man do they pull hard with a compression bump.
I've only run a stock MS880 and it was certainly lacking in comparison to my early 088 ,but still a very smooth well built peice of equipment and adequate for a big job.

Over the weekend I got a chance to test all of the saws I've built in the last few months.

Man those are some fantastic running saws, love to see the big guns come out to work!
Your quality work speaks for itself in those exhaust notes.

@Red97 how’s the echo 4310sx cut? How is it compared to a dolly 421? I love that saw for some reason. She’s a little chunky but just feels solid the hands. Only problem I run into is some 50’s are almost the same weight. Luckily I just like the way the 421 feels otherwise I probably would use it much. 4310 looks pretty sweet. Just wonder if it’s worth it over a 4910/501p. But I suppose we can play that game 10cc at a time all the way up the line right?

Boy this saw really tested my patience. 98/121/81 .070” from the band 268 piston swap 371xp. Epoxied the intake up to 81. Fresh rebuild and port work finding air leaks and found out the flywheel sheered the key. Had me second guessing everything I ever learned about porting because the damn thing wouldn’t run right lol. Let’s get this straight. I ain’t no damn saw mechanic! I just hop *s-word up lol

I have not made any cuts with it, but is feels very light. Stock is super close to the 501p up just down about .4hp
