Looking forward to running this tomorrow morning. If it’s worth a damn I’ll video it. View attachment 327094View attachment 327095View attachment 327096
I just ran it. While it cuts wood almost as good as a piston 60cc when it’s on… It won’t hold an idle for more than a few seconds and the rest of the time I can’t stop the chain from spinning while not cutting. It’s not safe for an old dude like me to be dancing around a spinning chain trying to make adjustments when I know what it really needs is a carb kit. I almost didn’t put that down but it’s the truth. I need to just fix it and come back. Sorry:(

Test cuts with my ported 61 build, very happy with it. This forum really helped me out and I wanted to say thank you! Stumpshot gave me some great advice along with all the porting threads here.

I did the same with the comments, I could care less what the people over on YouTube have to say.
The problem I see is they think all saws are the same. And anyone can port a saw. No need to machine or try to do your best when some guy will build something with a hyway popup piston and hog the hell out of the lower transfers and a whole crowd will tell him how great his work is. There’s no separation anymore. Sorry to sound like a holier than thou or whatever but not all saw builders are on the same level. Kevin and stump are way better than me. Everyone knows that. On YouTube hell. Some guy that doesn’t know how to cut squish bands can be considered the best. Lol it’s quite amusing :deal:

Sounds pretty good - It looks like it's holding good RPM in the cut...
Thanks JJ. I worked hard on that cylinder. It is a china cylinder and they always need a little extra machined from them and port timing is usually way out of wack! Lol

Really cool sound!
I think when I get the low end dialed in it will be fine.
I chose to NOT reset the idle speed adjustment screw before I started and I should have. I just now turned it out (a bunch) till it came off the carb then turned it in until it just touch’s then 1 turn additional in. That’s where I always start a fresh carb build.
Tomorrow I’ll run it some more and adjust it up and maybe get a tach on it to check the H side.
