Pretty much all of these builds are on here, let me know how you like my attempt at a video "build thread"
I absolutely loved the video! Man what a fantastic little build video. I immediately subscribed to your channel and glad I did.
Hoping that you do an individual build video on each one !, I'd like to see the carb set up and stuff like that, like living with this build how would it be?

Stock carb on those. Mostly just welding and cutting the cylinder, then a muffler spacer.

Glad you enjoy the video.

Once you get ya saws sorted chain sorted and techniques sorted will be a walk in the park the only challenge being the contaminated timber you have with chain dulling sand.
I edited my original post a little. Was running 28” on the 395. I’ll get some 404 and bigger bars back out soon. Dropped another log over the fence to whittle on today.
You’re right on the 3/8”, the other day the 266 was pulling 24” of it. Not struggling but not ripping like the 395. Also like you said, once you get the chain just right it’s not so hard to cut (until the bars get 42” long) as it is that it dulls quickly. I need to get some hook in that Duracut and try it again.

I think that Aleppo pine might actually be more challenging or require more power. I have this theory that the lighter and darker rings alternate hardness…the soft fibers let the chain bite and the hard ones are hard to cut…that and the pitch and knots.

Jethro is actually a Kiwi from Timaru (which is a few hours south of me). Just last week I sent him a good rear handle for his 395 (his was leaking) :)

Hopefully it will show up today :)
Thanks Mark

There's another Ozzy that regularly cuts iron bark and gums with his ProMac 800s and 7-10. He just recently got a 395xp.
I'm not totally sure if he's on the forum often.

Bloody aussies haha. Got a 6 foot big euc to drop soon might need a big bar on that 395.
