Well.....

Here is the 881 dyno video... let me have some real feedback...

I know I need better lighting. And some audio.

How does the flow feel?

Thanks guys

So cool. Too bad they can't muster up a few more RPMs.
What chain setup were you using?
Its a skip tooth .404 off the reel from Oregon, but its terrible. Its like they ground it with a stone meant for 3/16ths? I'll go over it and try again.
The only rim available for the weird 6 spline drum is 8 pin .404.

There’s part of your problem right there. 7 pin .404 would bog it down less. I had the same problem with a mac 125… 8 pin .404 was too much for it in hardwood. Your saw seems to pull it ok, but just cause a saw can pull it doesn’t mean it’s the most efficient setup for it.

This is part of the problem.

I am curious to see how much this thing would wake up with machine work. It feels pretty good for it not having the base/band cut yet

Seems like a good runner! I have a 359 sitting here and a 357 cylinder I've been contemplating mating. But it's a perfectly good running saw lol. Just minor mods. And I already have a minty ported 359 so no fun in porting another 359. Seems like the 357 cyl without stuffers runs pretty strong.

Thanks! And I feel they run pretty strong without stuffers

I might do a comparison between my dads ported, no machine work, 357xp and my 359/357. Mine and his are basically identical timing wise but I did a few more things to the transfers. It’ll be interesting to see how they stack up against eachother

That would be interesting to see. Fastest one I have ever seen was done by Timberwolf back when there was a 359 build off on race saws quite a few years ago. I learned a lot from that thread and ported mine similar it's a strong runner but I think would have more with some machine work as it's at 165psi without the base gasket.
Also on a side note an 066 piston wrist pin is the exact same size as the 359 one but weighs a lot less.
