You know the chain is right for the saw when your pulling wood planer chips and it still cuts smooth like that. Nicely done Mike.
I was hoping to run the same chain I did when the saw was stock. Unfortunately I found some dirt when I was tuning the saw after I ported it so that chain was fresh off the square grinder.

Irregardless, it's a great running saw. As usual, you did good.

Is that .325 or .375 chain?

I knew a guy that was working for Cascade Thinning running an MS-361 with a 30" bar and .325".

He'd figured out a way to thin the stone on his Silvey to square grind the .325".

Pete ran .325" for a while too on a Dolmar 7900.

I have heard of guys doing that, and milling with it, just wanted to make sure, and then ask how he liked it

I tried falling timber with the Stihl .325" chisel but I could never make it bite enough for me, and then in drier wood the chassis would get gummed up too fast. The
chassis doesn't hold as much oil as the larger chain. It might work good on a Husqvarna that can oil a lot more. I was running Stihl at the time and tried it with a 440.

He was pretty excited to run his new saw today

I have cut with it a little bit. I really like it in small timber that I can sweep . If I can't sweep it with that .325 i can't get it to stay in the same kerf wants to double cut for me. But if I am cutting small stuff with the 9 tooth sprocket and .325 it is super fast. You have to be careful about not sawing them off lol
