I was there for all of this saw testing Mason posted today -- but I was building up a 365 Special in Dan's shop and I very much appreciate the help from Dan and Mason as the saw was in a box for well over a year or two completely disassembled... when that much time goes by since disassembly and it's first 365/371/372 I've assembled from completely apart I definitely didn't know how everything went exactly. Used the Mattyo toolset that pulls the crank into the bearings nicely -- case went together nice.
At the end she's running and sounds great -- just turned it over w/o bar and chain and will hopefully get it in wood by or before New Year's day when I'm off and good weather.
This is an all OEM 365 Special that had a bad crank needle bearing. Got a good 371 crank, cylinder fine (closed port OEM original) and a new OEM piston.
New SKF OEM bearings, seals, gasket delete final squish 0.018". Walbro 12B carb. While in there new fuel line, impulse line. Intake boot and carb in great shape. Getting a bull horn style muffler for it which is on the way.
Will be bummed to turn this saw back over to the original owner -- while it's not ported, I think it will be fun to run w/ just gasket delete and dual port bullhorn muffler.
I'm a dum dum and took no pictures today. Next time!
