Try a 900 series Homie geardrive maybe an old Mac like a 660 too. your Modern saws will not seem bad at all. My Mac 700 is way louder than my 10mm 044, early 046 and ported 372's and 395.
You have the loudest saw on earth and you don't even mention it?!!
That 090 gear drive you have is so loud there's no escape. I saw branches falling off nearby trees when it popped on choke.

It must be the porting and semi gutted muffler.

I like a ported saw like anyone but doing tree work in residential areas in peoples backyards means a not to over the top muffler is appreciated by everyone involved. Baffles were invented for a reason, but I agree some saws have a pitch that is powerfull on ears. A good muffler mod IMO is some what nice yo ears as well.

Some. A few are stock saws from the 60-70s when a muffler was a straight shot about 3" long.
LOL! Like a Clinton, with the Bugle Horn.

The loudest stock saw I ever ran was a McCulloch 7-10A.......good füüking grief!

The most cranial piercing saw I own is my MS390, but the Old Stock MMWS decal probably has much to do with it.

McCulloch 10 series, has to be the King of making operators ears bleed. Muffler is little more than a diverter to make sound straight to you right ear. Lots of people back in the day would take their 10-10 to the dealer for a "new" muffler, was just as loud as the last, only aimed in different direction is all. Nothing sounds quite like an old Mac! Honorable mention to the Homelite XL series. No muffler mods required!
