Both of the ones I've done have had the same race bike like return to idle. I think it's due to the longer than what we are used to intake manifold. The 58mm bore version I made has a real interesting return to idle. Listen at around 2:40.

Just wondering if an extra large case could effect a saw in this way. Longer intake tract would maybe do the same.

Long stroke probably has some to do with it also.

I didn't measure it but I think the case is pretty tight considering the size of the stroke. The counter weights are not very thick probably to aid in the narrow package of the whole saw.

I'm porting a 034 and just found out that ring there's 2 different pistons in 46mm.
1 thick ring and 1 thin ring piston

Yeh I have both.
I didn't measure but I'm guessing one piston is 1.2mm rings and the other is 1.5mm

Sure it's not an AM piston that was installed ?
I don't recall 2 piston types .

Mine just has a cat delete (Un crimp ) with a opened out standard muffler hole - re tune. Runs grand.

Both rings are available. But it looks like if you order a piston your going to get the newer 1.2 piston and rings. The 1.5mm was on 034s
