I shot ATA, League, and a lot of money non registered shoots. Shot the Grand American when it was in Vandalia, Ohio. Most money I ever won was $3300.00 in a calcutta shoot. I shoot a Beretta 682 Gold E combo. Scott, what do you shoot? Are you a 27 yard shooter? Magic, Deets, and Rains, what are you guys shooting for guns? I agree, a day of trap and chainsaws would be awesome!
Do you know Bert Johnson?

I got an 870 TB when I was 12 and still have it. Then I bought a BT 99 SS with a 34 fixed, that's mostly what I shoot. And I also have a 1931 mill back model 12 trap.

I shot at The Grand quite a few years, it's only about 3 hours from me. I Shot an 870 trap for many years myself. When we got serious into league and ata shoots I traded a bunch of guns for a clean used Krieghoff KS-5. I was 18 at the time, had a $500 pos car with a couple thousand dollars worth of shooting gear in the trunk lol

I guess there was one by broad head but I never shot there and I heard they closed up last year
I heard they closed also, never did shoot there. Last couple years I have been heavy on sporting clays.

He's from my town and been shooting for over 50 years. He won the father/son national.

He's 82 and still shoots 2-3 times a week
I hope I can still shoot when I am 82! I have a friend that shoots with his son that have won the father/son at state a couple times. I taught his son to shoot when I started our local high school trap team. We went to the nationals and our team did very well for a couple years. I had 5 different kids shot 100 straights and our team won many invitational shoots and their conference every year. Sadly parents, the school, and local gun club politics ruined a good thing and I resigned as head coach. I sure miss it sometimes...

Used to shoot sporting clays for 10 years or so in a league in a neighboring town. Traded my Browning 425 in on a new Beretta Extrema 3.5 when I got more into duck and goose hunting.

Haven't shot for about 25 years now. The last 3 years I shot I went thru 12 to 15 thous. shells a year, 3 clubs a week, ATAs, turkey shoots, inter county leagues, childrens heart hospital shoots.
Loved to shoot skeet, shot a 24 at skeet with a bolt action shotgun, the miss was not on a double.
Had 1100 rems, a rem 3200 field grade, browning ou trap & skeet grade, 4 BT 99s, Ithica trap single, Winchester diamond grade unsingle combo, couple 870s. I probably missed a couple.
Favourite I guess would be the 34'' BT99s with screw in chokes, mod. choke for 16 yd. Loved that diamond grade Winchester tho but the barrels were 2'' too short.

Today my grandson and I made a couple hundred mile trip to Augusta...
I learned more in a couple hours today than I have learned reading on here for the last year or so! Thanks for taking the time out of your day today Scott!
Sounds like one of my typical visits with Scott.

Sounds like a very fun time indeed!

I can't like the post about selling your "other" babies. I sold my flamed out 39' Dodge 5wd coupe and my 55 Chevy. It was just a sad thing. Most of the other toys went as the kids were coming up. Still have some boats and parts to go down the road this year.

Sporting clays is fun and I have not popped any in nearly twenty years now. Trap did interest me but I spent most of time building street rods, engines, racing, rod runs and partying. Ahh... it was good to be young.

Looking back now I wish one of my kids took an interest in something I used to enjoy. They all went by the way of screens and modern electronic toys. I'm the wrench. The wife and kids are all artist, singers and dancers. Someday if my health, money and space permits I would love to build one of those closed circuit race boat or a wheel standing street car. Damn those 4x4 wheeling trucks were fun too! I had my share of toys and then some.

Camping is something we have missed the last few years for many many reasons. That is going to change this year. I need to get back out there and do some more fishing, hunting and camping. My grandson is two now so the time is right for me, him and my son to get out there again.
