Also id check the 02 sensor as mentioned before. Iv seen them make the motors runs crazy rich and it was pouring out black snoke out the tail pipe. That was a 2.4 cavalier. It was real boggy and gutless.
If ya got access to a code reader id be checking code first.

Have to say a mechanical topic discussion other than saws is a refreshing change....hahaha !!
Sometimes it's hard to find an issue on cars , I was a mechanic from the change of carbs to early fuel injection and ECM's......fun times for sure :borra2::BangHead:

Make sure the exhaust is not plugged up, easy way to tell is remove one of the 02 sensors closest to the engine. Leave it plugged up. Start the engine and see will accelerate.

Idles, bogs when touching the throttle, sparkplug sooted up. Symptoms of stopped up catalyst converters. Next is to find what caused it.

The coolant temp sensor for the egu would
have to be stuck in the below zero spec to enriched fuel up that much. If you decide to replace it, make sure you specify it's not for the gauge in dash.

A lot of guys have already mentioned it. I will mention it again. Check the exhaust. I like what @Stihlbro said. Pull the O2 sensor and give it a whirl.

You've got to be freaking kidding me! Joey you are the man. I pulled the O2 sensor and this is what happened.

If he bought it with a clogged cat, it would not be as noticeable as if he had always had the truck. Catalytic converters can be a real pain.

It never did run like I thought it should. Probably why...cat must have collapsed suddenly to go from driving to nothing!

They will only take so much... hopefully you can get a good one at a decent price. They can be pretty pricey. Universal fit ones online are usually the best bang for the buck.
