Anschutz 1710 D KL Meister grade
I have 1710D just like that. I was shooting my Browning 52 (Winchester 52 copy) and a guy with a Anschutz 54 let me shoot his. Man was I hooked on that. Those guns make shooting better easier, though not better, than my 52.

I really like the current Ruger SP-101 .22 LR, and kicking myself for not getting one back when they were reasonably priced and all over the place. Anybody ever try one of these?

I have one in 357mag as well as 327 federal, 4.25" bbl's on both, I really like 'em both, so I bought one in 22lr..... it didn't do anything for me, so I sold it after one range trip.
There is nothing wrong with it as a 22 but with me having magnums in the same gun it just don't feel right to me, plus I like some noticeable recoil while I'm missing everything I shoot at with my revolvers.
Kinda wish I still had it now that I live in snake county, it's pretty hard to beat a double action revolver for reliability and safety while carrying.

I’ve had one for a while. I was looking for a S&W m63 but couldn’t find one, so I bought the Ruger. Out of the box, it was almost impossible to shoot. I don’t remember the SA trigger pull but think it was around 6-7lbs. The DA was beyond the range of my Lyman trigger pull gauge. I put a spring kit in it and the SA pull is now 4lbs and the DA pull is around 10lbs. The spring kit manufacturers advise against using aftermarket springs in SP-101’s in .22lr, because of light strike issues. I was fortunate with mine and the springs worked, with no light strike problems, although I know guys who weren’t as fortunate and ended up getting rid of theirs. I also replaced the factory grips with something a little larger.
The SP-101 in .22lr is a neat little gun but out of the box needs help.

I have an SP101 snub nose 357 with bobbed hammer so DA only. I have changed out the springs, stoned and polished the action and added hammer washers. Night and day from stock. Actually nice trigger now for a screen door gun.

Went to the fun store today and found this little gem under the glass, Bersa Thunder .22. I already have the .380 version and like it very much. I offered the owner some gun equity taking up space in the safe and so got this one for just an extra $20.00 out the door.

The light was fading when I got home but I just had to try it out. Grabbed a couple partial boxes of shells from the garage and headed to the back field. First up, CCI Blazers. Every round went bang and fed and ejected so that's a good sign. Tried some Norma Tac-22's which are accurate but don't cycle most autos. They had really good accuracy but about 50% stovepipes, no surprise there. Just for laughs I tried some Thunderbolts. Amazingly, this pistol ate 'em right up with good accuracy! I think I'm going to really like this gun.

That’s a good looking little gun.
How’s the trigger?

It's typical Bersa. Fairly smooth double action, single action is really creepy but not too heavy. I shot it some more this morning. It seems to be accurate but hits about 2" low at 7 yards. Don't know if that's me or not. My .380 hits low if I jerk the trigger. I've had guns that changed the POI as they got broken in.

I did call the warranty service center for Bersa which is not the distributor in Georgia but a different company in Indiana. The guy told me that the Thunder .22 is designed to use HV ammo and supposed to be dead on at 7 yards. He said I should shoot it some more and if it still prints low, I can send it to them and they would test fire it in a Ransom rest.

Fired the Bersa some more yesterday. With good HV ammo it's 1-2" low. With Remington Yellow Jackets and Vipers it is like 4" low. Not surprising, those rounds really need a rifle barrel to perform.

There is an exercise you can do to both improve your trigger control and smooth the mating surfaces of the trigger mechanism. With an unloaded gun, you practice squeezing the trigger without dry firing. The goal is to make the trigger travel as much as possible without releasing the hammer. Doing this over and over will get your finger accustomed to the trigger of that gun and cause the trigger parts to smooth out by wearing against each other. Did that for quite awhile to both the .22 and .380 and it seemed to smooth out alot of the creep.

Wasn't looking for a gun when I was in a pawnshop scrounging tools.
But $300 out the door, I am now a happy Ruger Single Six .22 mag owner!:D

Nice little gun. I have the same model with both cylinders but paid a lot more than$300 for it. I keep the .22M cylinder in mine.
You got a good deal.

A Single Six convertible was my first handgun, bought it new for $300.00 in 1999 and sold it for the same price about 10 years later. I'm pretty sure that Ruger never made any New Model Single Sixes with only the magnum cylinder so the .22 LR cylinder must have been lost. They did make some magnum only Old Models and they go for a premium with collectors.

While I was "exercising" the trigger mechanism on the Bersa I noticed that the front sight is leaning to the left. It looks like it wasn't staked down square at the factory. So, I'm going to ship it off to the service center to have that repaired and I'll ask them to test fire in the Ransom rest. I do like the Thunder series alot, hopefully this one will get straightened out. If it is at least reliable and accurate with Aguila Interceptors I'll be happy. They are still way cheaper than anything centerfire and put up some impressive numbers. Interceptors clock an actual 1000 fps out of my little Ruger LCP II so I bet they would do 1100 out of the longer barrel of the Bersa.
