Too many little saws lol. They just keep following me home. And that not all of them.

For some reason I think the Stihl MS192 is a cool little saw. I always admire it when I walk through the saw department at work. It makes more sense for me to focus on the little guys since I use those the most anyway. I would say I run my 30-40cc machines 75% of the time.

Hi fellas,I finally tore down my PL5 & have a new bored over cylinder & matching piston & rings to go with it.I'm wondering if anyone knows what replacement crank seal is used on them?I don't need the Remington part #,I need the mfr.of the aftermarket seal & that #.

Going by the left over seals in my stash:

It could be National 253747 (.625” x .875” x .125”) or National 314267N (.625” x 1.0” x .125”)

Maybe one of each. I really don’t remember.

A Koyo BH-108 drawn cup needle bearing fits.

I gotta tell ya this one Carl.Back in Feb.I bought what was supposed to be a "bored over PL5 cylinder with matching piston & rings".I put the piston on the conn rod without a problem, then the rings on the piston, then TRIED like hell to get the cylinder on.I worked at it for about 2 hrs.,then got pissed & put the goods in the corner. The next day I got the bright idea to measure the old & new pistons.I ended up getting screwed, the piston & cylinder were for a PL4 & the rings were for a PL5.I had another P:5 that had a dirty piston, but scored cylinder.I was able to clean up the piston & put that with the PL5 rings on the saw.I just need to clean up the original cylinder a bit & I'm good to go.So I won't be needing the PL4/SL4 cylinder, but thanks for your offer!

In need of a starter cup for Remmy PL7. My insert is loose and spinning.
A part number would help to locate one if anyone can help.

TIA

Lee
I used a super 754 starter cup in place of a cracked one with the steel insert in my pl7a.

Wow that's an old post, I don't even remember that. I have a couple PL7's and a SL7 i will have
to take a look and see if i still own this saw. Thanks for the info. 754 saws are easy to find cheap.

I might have mentioned I have both a PL 4 and Pl 5 basically a back burner thing .They certainly favor the old popular .Copied Homelite XL 12 design .If those OEM seal numbers are correct it should not be a big thing to replace them with SKF /Cr seals . I have a Remington IPL book but I've never researched any parts numbers . I may have more Remingtons I've long ago forgotten about .Danged freebies are like stray cats ,they just show up .BTW I have stray cats too .

I don't know much about Remington .What I do remember was my bud Randy had his dads .Big old heavy thing with a 36" bar and no muffler it could wake the dead .Whatever became of it I have no idea because Georgia gave it away .As for her I know what happened .She just cooked me breakfast .:)

Hi guys, been a while since I've been on here.I've got a Monkey Wards 4.0 (rebadged Remy PL5) that's driving me batty with a no oil situation. It's that danged automatic & manual combo saws.Neither oiler works.I've had the saw running & tried the manual oiler, but it goes down about 3/4 of the way then hits tough resistance & won't prime or push any oil at all.I looked at the bar pad & it looked like it had a couple drops of oil on it.I put Goof Off graffiti remover in the oil tank top dissolve any old sludge that might've been plugging the oil pick up to no avail.Any ideas as to how to fix this PITA?
