My father taught me to never cut an ash(unless we were going to mill some) till you run out of firewood. One day sitting by the stove and it’s go to burn(really 2 or 3). Ash syrup smells soo sweet, I always try to but one end of the logs a few inches from the stove when it’s green and you can see little bubbles form on the other side. Btw nice grapple! :pesas:

Band sawed some juniper (first time) at buddy’s that I got from another buddy. Plan was end tables for my wife, but we went thinner and got more than we planned. The reveal was amazing. Pics don’t do it justice.

Found this pile at a local golf course on my way home from work so I loaded up the truck. I’m gonna head back with the dump trailer in the morning.2D42E83D-8C20-4267-A49A-C02FD0E32200.jpeg

The stuff I'm burning right now is pop corn dry ash I must have had stacked 7-8 years .I had not covered it until this fall .At night I load it full of shag bark hickory .Which is good stuff but not as good as oak and coaling up and lasting ,All I have to do in morning is toss a few chunks in and open the air .

It was a calm day today, so 20 degrees seemed warm enough. Took the truckout for some fresh air and found a nice dead ash tree along our back field road. I have wood in the stacks, but this was too nice to pass up. The 2188 was running so good I never even pulled the cord on the 7900.
