That’s good unfortunately to actually be able to say the metal cages made difference you’d need to run it 50:1 and see if or how long it makes it. They survive at 32:1 with factory bearings unfortunately it the metal ones fail at 50:1 you may have a catastrophic failure.Well, it runs with the stihl bearings and .075" shims.... I guess the next question is, for how long?

When bearings fail, it's never good. There's always damage sometimes things are salvageable other times there not, doesn't matter if it's steel caged or nylon.if the metal ones fail at 50:1 you may have a catastrophic failure.
