there is some of Stihl's smaller string trimmer models who happen to use the same type seals as Husky 242 PTO has.I agree, which is why I said, better get a couple ordered.
Typically the saws I buy/sell/run are saws that the parts are available for, just easier that way, and I enjoy the fuel economy of the newer saws as well. I still run the 346 when I'm cutting firewood as it's such a pleasure to run, but the 550 is my 50cc saw of choice. I have a few 200T's, ms201cm rear handles, and a ported 241 for my smaller saws as well as a 540t.
I was unaware the 200's had a similar seal, but I don't work on many saws unless I have to.
Husky 242 and 238 is probleby two of the most difficult saws to find new parts for, alot of NLA parts and the fight to bag them NLA parts is very hard.
I've hunted down and rebuilded 4 to a buddy of me, it's the only time I've let any 242 runners leave me
I also love those 550's as you do, but it's a model I do unvoid as a project or money maker, 346's and 357's is what I call safe saws.
