Just picked up my second 262xp with the KS/87 combo. Needs a few bits but overall it will make a good backup to my other 262 and 272.

I was also told early 262’s had the orange on the “XP” portion of the recoil decal, a dead giveaway for a KS/87.

Not sure if this saw has the original starter, but it seems NOT to be the case on this 1990 model year.

Another favorite of mine. 254xpg. 92 production year. One screaming saw! The heated handles work perfect.

Anyone know what timing numbers a 266 likes? I was thinking the standard 100/120/80 would suffice. Maybe do some finger ports? Maybe keep the exhaust a little lower around 102?

My only one. Guy pulled it out of the junk pile, dumped gas in the carb and it ran. Someday I’ll build it....or pass it on.
