I bought one from Farmertec like that. Seems fine. My main concern is if the spring has the same tension as OEM and if it engages at the same RPM. I actually prefer the earlier 154SE two-shoe clutch design to this two-shoe design, or the 3-shoe 262xp clutch design though.Due to cost and availability I have had to order a aftermarket clutch for a 254xp to keep it going for a customer .
Just wondering .....Has anyone else got one on a saw ?
The one i went for was from Farmertec , there was a Rockwood version as well .

Getting parts for the 200 saws is not easy here in the UK (getting the same most places) plus there is the time cost in hunting about unless your lucky in landing on something . This saw was starting to eat the inside of the brake band case due to part of the shoe support snapping off , ok when engaged but at idle one shoe tilted out rubbing on the cover ...not good. If the spring is a little long then as with the older ones as they stretch it is posable to snip a few turns off and reform the loop on the end to reduce the early drag on the clutch drum.I bought one from Farmertec like that. The clutch came and fitted just as it should..... Seems like a good reproduction.I bought one from Farmertec like that. Seems fine. What’s your squish with the base gasket delete? It’s usually pretty tight for my liking without a spacer of some sort. Here is my 261 box of parts saw, came in a milk crate for free. Can you see why?
I tore it all down, new handle/tank, bearings, seals, carb rebuilt, Farmetec/Hutzl 262 P&C with caber ring and Wiseco circlips. Was able to do a base gasket delete and muffler mod, it was 195 PSI without even being broken in yet. It is my favorite saw. I have a line on a used OEM 262 I will be buying to rebuild next. Will post my 257 next.View attachment 171264

You suck! Sir.My 257, a guy on Craigslist had it for sale at $250 during a blizzard, I drove to his place and offered $200 and he took it. It came with a nice husqvarna case, 4 chains - two newly sharpened, bar oil, 2 sets of husqvarna safety glasses and a nice Sandvik bar. It had not been run in years.
Dumped the old gas mix out, new fuel line and filter, new plug and it started. Adjusted the idle and retuned it and it runs like a million dollars and is at 180 PSI.
If it ever fails I will put a 262 top on it.View attachment 171273 View attachment 171274
Nice! All original 272xp. 91 production year. Except for the muffler.
Well, what happened .Only running 2-series I have. Recently rebuilt and ported it myself. Next is going to be one bad A 266.

That's good, mine don't act like that when they run out, glad that's all it was.Ran out of fuel. Freaked me out
Looks good.I think it shut down abruptly because I had it buried and pinned. Checked the tank and it was dry. Fired right back up but then started coughing.
Here’s some more eye candy
