Top is 51-SE 1/4” diameter.
Middle is 3/16” diameter I had custom made in 3/32 shaft.
Bottom is some 3/32 shaft flame shape I used to finish up the outside radius of the transfer ports on the 362.

IF you guys prefer to keep the thing as a"trade secret" then I understand, But...
Any chance that any of you guys running the dental heads on a "foredom" type hand piece might post a nice photo or two of the end where it meets whatever motor spins it???
I've looked at a squatload of images for the heads and the images are always from the side and you cant realy get a good look at what shape of driver input they take. Seems like only the turbine types have anything close to an end view.

I don't know the vernacular of dental tools so I've had no luck at knowing how to search for a better look or specs of the input shaft/hole for motor driven ones.
I have access to a benchtop lathe, so I might be able to mod a hand piece to to accommodate the dental heads.

Does the push button dental head use the grooved shank burrs like that lever latch?
Has anyone tried to flip the insides of a dental head to mount the burr from the other direction? I'm thinking of the 45~deg head and would it give any useful access angle?

I may be off line for a few days, but any info would be appreciated when I'm back!

The heads are rotatable... 12 positions or something like that.

Dental latch burrs are available but not large enough to be relevant....so you need to create the "latch" by grinding on a shank of a burr of your choosing.

E type handpieces accept what looKS like a flat blade screw driver input. The handpieces themselves are cheap....about 13 bux shipped on ebay. Get a couple and play with them :)

So sense I don't have one or ever used one I always did my port work the hard way I was wondering if someone had a good used 90 degree hand peace that would be maybe willing to trade for three straight hand Peace's I've got enough straight hand Peace's to last me a few years not sure who made them but compared to other I've had they run pretty smooth.View attachment 228690
I have asked this question too many times on many sites. Trades cash.. So far... zero replies on 90's.

Currently using an air powered 70 degree hand piece for now. No funds yet for a right angle whip drive at this time. It works fine for 45mm+

No art work this week. Broke hand :-(

The problem is that the 182 keeps going up in price. A few years ago it was $220 when they had some competition. But now there are no other manufacturers that make one similar in size. I’ve seen it go up to $350, then on sale for $312, and now it’s up to $412. The increasing cost of them is keeping people from getting rid of them. And if they do, they know a friend who would buy it instantly.
I did my first 20 or 30 with straight handpieces and cut off wheels or round burrs, But you need to be careful as they can catch and skip out of the corner of the transfers.
There is an inexpensive airdrive on eBay for about $60 that actually works really well on larger cylinders. It has its shortfalls, but it’s definitely enough to get a guy going. And then it’ll piss you off enough to where you’ll buy a 182

So true

Where's my hammer... damn tool
Then, you need it five minutes later :hmmm:

320 last time I checked on them.

Those small low speed right compounds seem like a bargain now. Hope we can get some :headbang:
