Advertised compression?
I am using one of his in my own buildoff saw, but this one is for a tree guy fella in Montana. It needed a pretty healthy going throughLooks like a 394 - are you gonna go with one of Diamond Dave's custom pistons when he gets the next batch?
Got no idea. I always figured if you needed to check compression that you didn’t have enough lol.Advertised compression?

Absolutely nothing wrong with testing of shapes and angles...great looking work as always...Ms460 jug done a little differently then my typicalView attachment 228908View attachment 228909View attachment 228910
I see pot marks all over. Two holes next to the intake right through the plating. Looks like a factory bubble got popped in the casting before plating. Is it my phone or does that cyl-ie have a bunch of pitting in the plating?
It’s lint and bubbles from spray oil on a ragIs it my phone or does that cyl-ie have a bunch of pitting in the plating?
The new meteor piston came in today so I pulled the cylinder back apart to make some timing changes if needed and I wanted to look at what we were seeing in those pictures just to make sure. The piston pic is so the owner knows it’s running a 395 piston, as it was before. The intake has been cleaned up since I posted the original pics, but I didn’t post an intake picture earlier as I wasn’t done with it yet. I don’t believe there’s any pitting at all in it, pretty sure it was just dust off the paper towel. Like I said, these are immediately after pulling the cylinder off and putting the new piston on. I didn’t touch anything inside with a rag, just to be able to see what we were looking at. Thanks for bringing it up though. There can definitely be things hiding out inside that you can’t see with the naked eye, but can focus and zoom in on with the cameraIs it my phone or does that cyl-ie have a bunch of pitting in the plating?

#metoo. Has to do with ring pin location.Looks good.
So your going to be running a 395 piston in a 394, correct?
Looks awesome, as usual. Countless times I’ve thought I had a great cutter filed just right to post a pic of. Zoom in with my camera, snap the pic then look at it and see all kinda wrong. The new meteor piston came in today so I pulled the cylinder back apart to make some timing changes if needed and I wanted to look at what we were seeing in those pictures just to make sure. Send that junk here... you don't want that old jug.#metoo. Has to do with ring pin location.

Made me wonder because I have a 394 cyl here with damaged plating. A bunch of little circles missing but wouldn’t really call it pitting.
10-4. Not sure about the compression height, but the ring pins are over the intake rather than the corners and I believe the skirt is just a hair shorter on themLooks good.

Honestly, we as saw nuts probably think too hard about this stuff. Little pick marks out in the middle of the bore probably don’t hurt anything except for a little compression. Totally different scenario though when you have bad areas above and below the transfers and exhaust that might peel away#metoo. Has to do with ring pin location.

Pretty much, except it is fed from the frontOversize 361
