I'll JMS one up you with the 064/066 nightmare I fixed last year, it was sold with all this damage present and hacked with epoxy. I welded 5 different areas on the PTO side case half alone, bar stud area, upper spike mount, lower rear AV loop, hole into the oil tank and cracked bar pad supports. Then it took a few time serts or heli-coils on stuff I didn't want to ditch cut and weld. Mike powdered all the mag parts after I fixed them up and the owner is very happy to have a decent saw.

You win. I remember now. There’s a guy here that beats you though. He’s even a porter.

His JMS saw needed 17 timeserts IIRC. Didn’t run upon receipt. One of 4 cylinder bolts actually caught thread.

That's impressive.

Jerkoff warrantee!

Apparently these people do exist. The proof is out there.
His stuff was so whacked-out be glad one never crossed your bench.
Plus it needs a clutch o_O
I'm far from a saw expert, but I do have mechanical abilities and pride in all my work. Rather it be in tree work, wrenching or construction. Bad karma to those who kill the trades.
Stand behind yer name, and tall..... not you @Lightning Performance .
I'm just saying.

Turned out to be the source of the rattle on the 260 I’m rebuilding. Also, if the rings are friction welded, that would mean straight gas was ran through the saw, correct?

Are the other 2 corners scored also? Usually the edges of the skirt scoring like that are from revving or cutting before the saw was warmed up. The piston heated up and expanded before the cylinder did

The only scoring I saw was in those two places. Looked at the cylinder and the scoring was in the same spots, but not the full length of the cylinder.
