Looking to get port work done on my STIHL 462. I reached out to Ripsaw but it’s the older style cylinder and they used to do that by hand but they don’t do this style anymore. Was curious if anyone would want to take on this work. The cylinder is like new with very little time on it. Serial is 190062985.

I’d love to do it but I’m stepping away from saws for a while. Some changes at work and too many unfinished projects and commitments right now to be able to take on more saw work. I don’t want to make a promise or commitment to someone that I can’t keep.

Thanks for all the input! I’m located in the London area so I’m trying to find someone close but I’m willing to figure out shipping. I was hoping to just get a kit from Ripsaw to pop in the saw but they don’t do the older style cylinder.

You don’t quite realize the hassle you saved by not messing around with ripsaw. You’d be $400 into a saw that ran little if any better than a stock one.

I would take Tree monkey up on his offer. Should be a way to ship it so you don’t have to pay duty on something that’s being sent over and back

I purchase parts from a trailer manufacturer in Parry sound, Ont. They sent me a hydraulic control valve that was levied an astronomical tariff, unpackaged, inspected and thrown aside at customs for a month. When it arrived, it was damaged to the point I was forced to refuse it and tell the UPS man to send it back where it came from. After the manufacturer repaired it, they opted to throw it in a van and drive it to us rather than take the risk of shipping it again. Personally, I wouldn't ship anything I valued into or out of Ontario at the moment. I wonder if Dyno Joe would work on it? He wouldn't be that bad of a drive from your place.
