My 046 was 175 stock, when Bret (Smittybilt) got done with it was 205. That saw was lethargic when it went to him, and he woke it up nicely.

My 046-D cylinder was a Mahle (found it on Craigslist, the guy had replaced it with an AM), the one Al likes the porting on is a no-name.

A little more compression might help

Does it seem a little low? I was expecting maybe about 185. The rings and cly looked good. Had a little wear but the cross hatch was still a little visible. I'll check with another gauge to see if it was off

Did you replace the rings?

Taking so little off won't gain much and even if the old rings are used it will still need a little run time to seat in.

It doesn't need anymore compression
What's the port timing

I didn't check the timing. I didn't raise or lower anything. But I plan on learning more about that on my 064 build and maybe go back into the 460 to check and change.

Depends on the cylinder how well it will run

064 cylinders are fairly consistent

It was scored passed fixing so I put a 660 cylinder on it.And tapped my holes to 6mm w/ Heli-coils.

A 064 cylinder will generally be stronger than a 660 cylinder.
I have a dozen or so 064 cylinders if you want one.
Pm me if you do

This saw adds to my belief that you don't need a high exhaust for rpm,I had it to 15.5 and still 4 stroking good, and it's got numbers I've never used or seen anybody use and has a tiny single outlet with a oem screen.
It's 104.5 125 75
