So what has to be done to put a carb on the 661?? I like the M-Tronic system a good amount, however this carb talk has me intrigued.

Is it really just a coil swap along with a 660 carb, or is it something more in depth?

Sent from my non internal combustion device.

I don't think he even swapped the coil

we just did carb

4701a is latest coil released. that is what was used.

- mtronic max rpm we could get was 13160

- once carb put on we had it has high as 13820. Sweet spot seemed to be about 13600ish.

So I guess, I am just not understanding the logic of why some still think the coil is limited? Am I missing something?

Also... When using the fast tach on the 661s I've owned (all coils 4700c 4700d 4700e 4701A) I have not once seen the fast tach act like it does on a 461.. which as everyone knows is 100% no doubt about it, a limited coil.

Based on the above, yes, I'd like to know the # of the european coil. Personally I think it would make more sense that a euro version carb'd 661 saw, would actually have the limited coil and the euro guys would be asking us for our coils.

Does anyone know for sure that a euro carb'd 661 is unlimited? How high have they had the saw?

I have sent the coil but i dont even see what numbers or taking pictures just put it in a box and sent it

but tomorow i call again the distributor here and i ask him to give me all the numbers and infos that you need , what coil , carb , limited or unlimited etc,etc

hope this will help you

so basically a carb is all I need?? I have one off of an 064 would that maybe work?

Not trying to sound dumb here... I'm just excited to hear that one does not have to import parts from germany

I also take it that the fuel solenoid component can be plugged in and just hangs?
