Did my pics in my first post not show up? They were uploaded through the tapatalk app, which I kinda hate.

I have a 2150 line routing with pic in link marked A B C for each line color coded.

Make sure of the one you have as they liked to switch up routing during the years.

I sharpened the chain, and realized a cutter is completely missing. No idea how that happens. The fuel leak issue appears to be just what cut4fun had going on on the saw he was working with in his thread. Just leak down from above. I have a spline tool on the way from Amazon. I still need to get a couple spark plugs, fuel line, and some pull rope to finish them all up. Hopefully that's all they'll need. That's just my list so far. I need to watch some videos for a carb tuning refresher course. I got it where it would idle for a few seconds, then it would die. I turned the low screw in a tad and it did better. Then I turned it all the way in to see how many turns out is was, and it all went to hell. The electrical connector "hack" is just that. That's when I got pissed off and ordered the correct tool for the job. Now I wait. I'm pretty happy with my success so far. Once you're used to 60cc's 42 just sounds like a small fan. And omg these cutters are little babies. Like half the size. I LOVE my cs-590! No regrets at all. I shall redeem myself for the 4218 I blew up though!

I blew up 4 of them, they dont hold up very long when you sport them up a bit.

Hopefully they hold up long enough to sell them and get my money back.

Here's more news on the Poulan front. I went to a couple stores today and picked up a couple spark plugs, and a starter rope. My tuning tool doesn't get here til tomorrow, so I decided to put the rope and a plug in the 2150. After way too many pulls, it seems to run pretty good. Still needs some tuning. No antivibration, so it shakes like crazy! Didn't realize that until I got it running. Also didn't realize it has an outboard clutch. Anybody know how you remove one of those? Does it just spin loose after you get the bar and chain off or something? Or can you even get the bar and chain off with it still on? So, back to the 2150 tuning, I took a picture of the plug after 2-3 minutes of revving, wide open, and idling. I'd say half the time it was idling. What does this plug say? Based on its wide open sound, I didn't notice any 4 stroking, and I'm almost deaf now. I always wear hearing protection. Always! But not for those few minutes in the garage. :(

usually they do not shake like crazy without antivibe. plastic poulans the plastic absorbs a lot of vibration. the old metal saws with bare metal hand grip would tingle your fingers. what is making it shake so much?

Well vibrate like crazy, not really shake. Seems like a lot of vibration to me. It doesn't feel bad when it's idling, just vibrates when it's revving. Haven't cut with it yet, so I may calm down once it's used. I didn't notice anything broken or missing that would make it have extra vibration. The clutch was an interesting discovery. I pulled the cover off to check everything, and the brake handle came off with it. I was like wth is that when I saw the brake in the cover. Then I saw the clutch and it all came together.

As far as the little paper gasket that I tore between the carb adapter and the cylinder, is there any reason that would leak as is? If so, and I think it would be safer, is there any problem with putting a little high temp rtv where it ripped vs replacing it? I can only find it in a kit, and it's around $9 for a whole assortment of gaskets and o-rings that I don't need.

rtv is dissolved in seconds by gas or 2 cycle mix use a LITTLE permatex if rip is well away from impulse hole. clutch is reverse thread there is a arrow on the metal showing which direction it unscrews. most folks use yamabond or motoseal since rtv is not for 2 cycle engines.

Is the impulse hole the slot that the secondary air butterfly goes to?

Oh. Gotcha. I'll have to see where that hole is. I'll probably get a tube of that motoseal. Half the gasket stayed on each piece, so I'm thinking a few tiny dots will make sure it's all sealed back together. As long as air can't leak in all should be well, correct. I need to call around a couple more places and see if anyone just has that gasket. That would be the best approach.

versachem gasket sealer number 1 or 2 will do it and is only 3 bucks at o'reilly auto parts. same as old fashioned permatex 1 or 2 . number 2 is best as it stays soft. number 1 can glue a part on permanently. the other products are much more expensive.

Any insights on the spark plug from the 2150?

It does. It had red and blue caps over them. I took them off, and it has flathead screws under them.

To me the plug looks super rich, but it seemed like it was revving crazy high. Maybe it was just the lack of hearing protection that made it seem higher than it was. Or maybe this thing just revs so much higher than my echo, and I didn't know it.

ok L screw allows saw to start easy and idle good. H screw keeps mixture rich enough you do not melt piston. start saw warm it up and open H screw till saw starts to lose power then close H screw till saw regains 90% of power. when it is right saw will still stutter a little at wide open throttle but when you make a cut in a log it will clear up and run smooth.
