I have an old Poulan PL25 2-stroke trimmer, it's like 20 years old but still works fine. Did poulan stop making trimmers? Anybody know when?

How different/same Is "Poulan Pro" to "Poulan"

sidenote: helped dispose of my friends poulan riding mower, don't remember if it was "poulan" or "poulan pro"... but... what a piece of chit that thing was.

Parent company Husqvarna has been shuffling brands in recent years. My interest in whether they are still making Poulan trimmers is so low I'm not sure how to describe it. Their recent products have been worse than useless.

No they don’t. All Poulan/Poulan Pro sells now are hedge trimmers, blowers, and chainsaws. I still have my old snot green Poulan P1500 curved shaft trimmer that might be about 15 years old. It actually still runs great, especially since I opened up the muffler a little and adjusted the carb. I used it probably a few weeks ago but the line ran out half way through the trimming so I grabbed my Husqvarna trimmer. The Poulan head is the old style where you have to cut two pieces of line then wrap them individually around the spool. My Husqvarna has the Echo SpeedFeed 400 head on it. Way easier to reload the line when it runs out.

Poulan, Poulan Pro, and Weed Eater will eventually take their places in the large graveyard of OPE marques that have been buried by Husqvarna. Some of the Husky homeowner products actually began as Poulan products. The 120 chainsaw comes to mind, also one of the attachment capable trimmers. I wonder if the Poulan Weed Eater plant in Arkansas is still going?

Poulan used to make good equipment.....then corporate greed, cheap homeowners, and selling out to box stores ended that just like many other good companies.

IMO if you look at Poulan plus several older brands as they've been bouight ,sold or merged it depended on which level of product they leaned towards .Poulan actually became a generic brand that made saws to the specs of say Sears and Roebuck plus other companys .However at one time the older models were very high quality .

At one time on I forgot which forum a relative of Poulan explained how that happened .These days who actually owns the brand name I have not a clue .Saying all that just about every manufacture has a lower quality product including the almighty Stihl and Husqvarna .On the subject of weedwackers I have a Poulan polesaw that came with a weed wacker assembly of which I've never used or ever intend to .Weed wackers are one item I have a surplus of .Of maybe a dozen the only new one I ever bought is a Stihl .I'd have to take inventory to find out if in fact I could have a Poulan hanging from the rafters .
