Geez, and I thought that thread went bye bye because I said muh MM work saw sticker make muh saw go faster...........what a relief! I thought this was the no but hurt zone. Anyhow, how do I get muh two posts back that I lost. I was hoping to win that huskovarno:p

Post two more times........click your heels together and say "I need that saw......I need that saw".

I actually know why,the better running saw had better transfer timing and didn't need to be raised as much to achieve the same timing.
Why does a better starting point help if you are porting to the same degrees?

I've often wondered if two things rings creates more or less drag than one thick one?

Say you have two 1.5mm rings vs a single 3mm ring. Which has more drag and dissipates heat better? The two thin ones because they are a smaller mass and can cool faster? Or do they seal so well they aren't lubed as well as the single? What if dog really ment cat?

If you start out closer to your desired transfer degree, the final transfer opening won't be as tall. Smaller opening= better transfer velocity

I'm going to say two rings equals two edges in each direction which equals more drag. One big ring is a bigger heat sink than two thin ones.

But- two rings travel the surface of the cylinder (riding the ups and downs of the surface) with a lot more flexibility. Think of it as a train either with one long car, or several short cars navigating a track with curves.

Nope, wrong analogy. More wheels, more rolling resistance. And pulls through the curve harder.Trust me.
