The cast is big and hand don't feel so good so I'm going with big bore, ported to the max and then blew up.

No kidding. Makes me think I better start practicing with the other hand just in case. Brushing my teeth too. I bet I would poke my eye or ram the toothbrush up my nose if I tried to brush with my left hand.

Thank God.

I cut my thumb off on my left hand (and I'm right handed) and I still had a hell of a time doing even simple stuff for a long while.

I smashed the pinky on my right hand between two Ford 460 blocks at work and I'm right handed .Talk about unhandy.Try tying a shoe with one hand ,the left to boot .My lawdy pissed all over my shoe,it was terrible for about two weeks .

Had surgery yesterday. Don't wish this on anyone. Had arthritis in
the thumb joint area. Doc carved it out and removed a small bone.
8 to 10 weeks recovery. It is some painful right now.

I told the doc that this surgery better be perfect as this is the go fast thumb.
He said what do you mean. I said this thumb operates the throttle on snowmobiles.
He said don't worry, you'll be snowmobiling this winter. Why I had it done now.

Thanks everyone. It's feeling better but slowly.
I'll be away from the computer till Sunday as
i'm heading to Ga. then to Kentucky then home.

The cast came off today. Feeling better as the days go by. Physical therapy started today
as they made me a removable cast and schooled me on exercises. Still quite swollen but
it will get better. Can't wait to get back to work.

A buddy of mine (long-time timber falling contractor) worked a season with a one-armed timber faller in Alaska in the late 90's.

The guy had a custom prosthesis which allowed him to run a big saw. They sent me pictures - It was pretty amazing - those people are out there.
