Has 736.5 hours on the meter now, and this year it will probably hit 1000!

Also, here is my Honda FG110 I picked up on Saturday.

Which engine do you have on your commercial mower?

I always wanted a Super Hawk, but finding a clean one is a PITA... I learned on a '70 (something)CB350 and a '79 XR250 enduro. I've owned a 1981 (same vintage as me) CM 400, 1991 Civic and currently own a Hustler 60" SUper Z with the 24hp GX670 engine (Way underpowered for the application, though I love the engine) and this 1993 ST1100A:

Does anyone know if Honda (or anyone else) makes a side discharge "conversion" chute for the HRX series mowers to re-direct the clippings, when discharging, from the rear to the side? I really want a HRX, but my wife mows a lot, especially when I'm TDY (like now) and wants a side discharge mower, not a rear discharge... Something about if Momma ain't happy... But outside of Snapper, most sde-discharges are crappy any more, and having run a lot of snappers over the years (especially mowing for money as a kid) I greatly prefer the Honda experience now...

I wonder if that could be adapted to the HRX? I could (and might) buy the HRX, but after using friend's, my Wife WASN'T impressed with the clippings coming out on her feet... I could care less but since She mows as often, or more than I do, as I like mowing a lot, but so does She, that means I have to find a "compromise" that everyone can live with.

I have a Honda HS 828. Sold my trusty 828D to buy it. Never really liked the Tecumseh engine on it. It started every time even with the pull start but it ran rough. Supposedly the Honda throws snow 50' the JD should did notIMG_3367.JPGIMG_3636.JPG

I just removed the L circuit limiter tab on the Klein carb fitted too my GXV160 5.5hp Honda mower. With the EPA tab in place you could not remove the needle to clean the carb properly. For the last year mine has been hard to start but once warm restarts easy in a single pull. Cleaned a lot of crud from the fuel filter and L needle seat so hopefully it returns to 1 pull starts. Mine has about 200-250hrs so far, being used commercially I think the mower itself will fall to bits way before the engine needs a serious overhaul.

Anyone disable the governors on the GXV160's so you get full control of the throttle? I did it to mine and as long as your careful not to 'over rev' you have full access to the power when YOU want it.

I think the gx160-5hp/gxv160-5.5hp have a stack of power for a mower. But if the governor and throttle assembly ain't tuned right they are only using a small portion of available power. Disarm the governor & tweak the control setup and they go hard.
