Did you weld nuts on your 261 muffler on the inside? Or is the metal thick enough to tap?
yours looks good and I want to do one myself.

About to mod a couple 044 mufflers. Mine will have a duel port cover on it and was thinking of opening the factory hole to the size of the deflecter on the side. Any ideas?

If they are the old 044 cans with the 13/16 hole just open up the skinny *a-hole in the cover to 5/16 wide.

I chowdered the guts in this stubborn chunk of 075/076 steel.

I was lucky this came from the factory with welding that completely filled the entire area behind the flange so I was able to hog out the inside to match the exhaust. There's another next to it for comparison.

Butchered up a echo twin muffler today. But of a job but got there.

This is what lived inside.

Like gutting a fish.

All bandaged up.

And opened up the outlet.

Just repainted and pop the louvre cover back on. [emoji1360]
