If you create a YouTube account you can post it there and then share the link here. You can change settings to allow who sees it on YouTube if you don’t want to become an internet sensation.
@Backtroller , I had to, the video is posted further up.

The smaller Stihl (241) Is MTronic. The orange one is a 288xp. They have the best sound at idle you’ll hear on a chain saw.
That’s some Husky, never seen one for real, they seem a lower raving saw like some of the even bigger ones.

Finally managed to upload a video of the saw starting from cold,
the tach read 12480, then after leaning the H it now sits at 12960.
Let me know what direction you all think I need to go in,
it was 10 degrees c here, I could see my breath a time or two.
The saw as you will see is stock, just the cat and the plate it is welded to has been removed.
That video played right way up on my phone, guess I have a lot to learn about YouTube.
@huskihl @full chizel @Simondo let me have it.
Sounds about right to me. Can’t really judge plug color without having it under load. Cut a half a tank with it and then check and see what it looks like

The 241 is ported, but it is only running a 6 pin rim so it can pull a 16 inch bar running full kerf 325 chain in hard firewood. It is holding the same revs as the 4300 in that super hard oak, but is cuttin slower. It's stock chain - I wold run it with lower rakers than stock usually. 325 just lasts so much longer than 3/8 Lo Pro or Picco for my work. The files last longer and the chains seem to want to jump the bar much less, if ever. It also needs to be dialed in. I am messing with the stratos and it isn't great.
That 044 is a ported Mahle red lever 10mm. It is running rich for break in. That is it's first cut after porting.
The 4300 is also running rich for it's first cut. It is half a turn in again since this vid. If it had an unlimited coil, it feels like it would burn at 14.5K without any problems.
The 288 is also massaged a bit. The upper transfers and exhaust height are nearly untouched so as not to raise the power band. It is a community saw on a farm, and I didn't want it to be too nervous. It's ported to pull long bars in oak without bogging. It is also running a bit rich in this wood, but is slightly faster than the 044 because it is running an 8 pin and it also pulls like a freight train. It is running semi chisel chain. The 044 is full chisel. That 288 can easily rev as high as the 044, which is set at 13,6K for break in, but it pulls strong running a bit rich. She is at about 12.9K here. So we'll likely leave her a bit on the rich side.
BTW, I have the same tach as you do. If you wind up the coil tight and tie it off, you can simply take the coiled wire and hold it near the spark plugs to get a reading. No need to wrap it around the spark plug wire unless you are going to mount it to the saw.

All 288xp clutch drums ring like a bell at idle. Sort of their calling card.
