Also be sure to be checking tube right after a few good cuts so the saw is good and warm. Also it gets the engine cleared out from starting with the choke. The tune will change some with temp and as the engine runs in.

If you create a YouTube account you can post it there and then share the link here. You can change settings to allow who sees it on YouTube if you don’t want to become an internet sensation.

Here's one I ported bouncing off the rev limiter and cutting super hard oak. The muffler is gutted and it has two exits.

At idle:

She is an open port cylinder. I had to add finger or eyebrow ports to wake her up and scavenge correctly.

This is my first attempt(later attempts are a bit more conservative, but still as effective):

I should’ve kept my 421. I traded a 201T for a brand new 241 and sold the 421. I love my 241 but should’ve still kept the 421.

Hi everyone.
I appreciate all your help, but my internet is so bad this page is still loading the video images as I type, it’s been the most frustrating day ever, I took a video
on my phone, turned out ok, 5 min 40 seconds, 650 mb, downloaded a converter and it’s now half that size, can’t use my laptop programs as the dam magnetic pieces fell out of my surface pro and at same time charger started to smoke, good job I was there.
I hope to upload the video as soon as my internet begins to work again, and of course hear the saws in the links posted here.

Thank you all for now

Finally managed to upload a video of the saw starting from cold,
the tach read 12480, then after leaning the H it now sits at 12960.
Let me know what direction you all think I need to go in,
it was 10 degrees c here, I could see my breath a time or two.
The saw as you will see is stock, just the cat and the plate it is welded to has been removed.
That video played right way up on my phone, guess I have a lot to learn about YouTube.
@huskihl @full chizel @Simondo let me have it.

This is the plug from the saw, it doesn’t look as dark in real life, every app I open it in shows it differently, I hope its an indicator how the saw currently runs to the more experienced here.

Hi @smokey7
Am not sure I understand when you say, check the tube after a few good cuts.

Do a video of it cutting some wood so we can hear if it cleans up under load. Don’t over think this man. Set it at 13k-13200k and cut wood.

judging the plug isn’t real accurate.

Me got no wood in the yard, and it’s way too wet to go on slippery ground
to cut some, how so you think the tune currently stands.

Its got a nice 4 stroke at WOT but it needs to clean up under load. It it tachs good i’d leave it there until you get it in some wood.

Hi @full chizel
Yes, I think it’s a little rich yet, judging how you see the saw start, three
pulls on choke, and one to start her, and the following bog down, would you lean it out on the Low, adding a little more bog / warm up time, or leave the low as is, I initially turned it out about 2/32, given it had more bog before the muffler mod and people were saying I would need to retune, what do you think.
I don’t know if it is related but after that ever so slight out on the Low which is the current tune on the video, I have not been able to get the H setting to sit at 13000, for some strange reason it now sits at either 12960 or will go way over even with the slightest turn in on the H.

The temprature, humidity, elevation, etc can change the tune. At 13000k it give you a little room on either side. I would wait until you get wood to do anything more.

Am at 140 feet here, temp was 10 c, the heat of battle will likely lean the saw enough to warrant the current settings, as you say, get it into wood.

Just saying a lot of variables can affect the tune. It might be bang on 13200 in the morning but in the afternoon its at 12900. Don’t over think it.

@00wyk , that sounds great, wish I had your skills.
Would you work that Makita daily at those revs, or are you just showing
what is possible.
That Stihl is flying, and the orange saw after it, what make is it.
