I think it would be great if Stihl offered a standard carb version as an option.
Can we ask what your out the door price was (including taxes) ?
So does that mean you drive an old vehicle with a standard carb? Everyone has there own opinion but I think they need to be more open minded at these new saws. If the manufacturer trusts the auto adjust carbs in their pro saws it's only a matter of time before the old school people will have to adapt to technology
I just wish they would man up and show the weight with fluids and a 20"bar. Would be nice ya know.Empty weight for sure. They are saving weight on these newer models by using more polymers and less metals.
I was sure the 6kg claimed weight was going to be without the clutch cover or some other dumb way to make a pretend low weight. Anyone want to buy a wws562 in Aus?Powerhead weightView attachment 86044
I understand, I wish they had a carb option as well, but guess that's not going to happen, I would think a carb version would be a little lighter without the wiring and such.
I am not paying those kind of prices, 064s can be had for half that price in really nice condition and weigh only a little more, put an 066 top end on and port it and still have less in it then a stock 462. Brad used to make 99cc 064s if I recall correctly.
According to the German site, they are selling the 462 for a hair less than the 461. If that holds true when it gets across the pond, the 462 should be a lot less than $1500.
FWIW, the tree service guys I know love their m-tronic saws. Easy starting, perfect idle, protection from death at the hands of an unknowing operator. The tree job I tagged along with yesterday featured a pig rich pole saw and an ms280 that took 15 pulls to fire up in the bucket. Even if those guys know how to tune a saw (big if), and care that the saw isn't running right, they still have to take the time to do it, and in many cases it just doesn't happen, which is why m-tronic saws are a great fit for some settings. I love my 261; set up with a sharp chain and good gasi can put it in anyone's hands and not worry about them having a frustrating experience or toasting a saw if something fails.
Or keep their hands toasty with the flick of a switch...
Long as they make the 362 that trend is still going.
