If yours is unmolested its probably fine. After having been to 3 different shops I am at least #4 into this saw. Lots of little things that are not how I would want them. The wiring harness has lots of pick and kinks in it also. I will add a new high tension lead, wiring harness, and clean it thoroughly. Then hopefully its a runner in the tree tops again.

Ok...one more question. I have never seen a rubber intake boot with out a sealing ring between the carb and boot. There was nothing in this saw. Looking at the old IPL I have the earlier saws called for a sleeve (#32) between the carb and boot. Does the latest model use this also and someone has left it out? It looks like the carb is machined for it.

looks ok to me...#32 is in place in the "manifold" ...its a bear to get back in place to stay on while "reversing" the tear down process. :) ...its a weird way that they "clamp" off the manifold to the "case" with just that "plastic sleeve" too. first time I saw that I was like...wah da fug.... wheres the clamp ?

So no plastic or metal ring that sets into the edge of the intake just before the carb. First I've seen that but I wondered as the manifold does have the raised bead around the perimeter like a formed in O-ring to seal. I will keep pushing on.

While cleaning I found the "signs of a rookie" where someone tried to lock the flywheel in place. Other is a misaligned screw for the recoil... they just crammed in and over tightened. The recoil hole also has some damage. Seeing as it has the original elastostart installed...I doubt this was tree service damage. Also top left recoil hole has no threads left and the screw was missing. I'll fix that too.... again
