Funny man cause this saw has very little time from new.... fricken sweden qaulity control really does stink sometimes. 2017 was a bad year for saws!!!

im glad you have confirmed it. I am thinking of checking the surfaces for flatness but i dont have oem gaskets.. i do have aftermarket but why wouldnt a hit of motoseal on both surfaces do the trick for aftermarket gaskets?
Worked for me many times.

I'm sure there flat.i would motoseal it with the gasket.and let it set overnight before adding bar oil.make sure the cars are clean and free of oil and dirt also before the sealant.

They will be fully clean and scrubbed before any work is done. Not going this far to have a piece of sawdust get pinched in between the cases and im right back to square one

So far thats my plan.

cant get the tank vent out, i can see the puck but the sleeve is inside after the green 90 barbed fitting came out.
The only gasket that failed me was black and brittle i haven't seen those for sale for many years
The green or grey have been fine.

I use 1184 on the surfaces. :)
Product of Merica not kanata

we got motoseal up here itll have to do, im tired of ordering stuff right now ;)

how does a bar oil leak cause the engine to overheat?
I did notice that the saw would get real hot on the top cover, too hot touch from start to just idling after a few minutes.

I haven't seen them in 3 or more year's
Semi soft at first
They hardened and chipped out in the oil tank area
I had one and a friend had one do the same on 372s

got some of the FSM pages printed out so i do this right. Mattyos tool arrived as well so putting this back together should be good. gonna give these a bath, but first gasket removal and remover then strip it fully and have it squeeky clean.

bearings appear fine. Regardless they are getting replaced with nachis courtesy of mattyo!!

I dont have the tool for seal install, is there a good way to gauge the depth of the seal on the flywheel side without the tool?

On 372s there is usually an area that’s visible after you pull the old seal. Take pics and try to measure that depth. If I recall correctly, it’s deep enough to be on the edge of the paint area. I usually don’t trust paint as an indicator, though.
