The loader should be very versatile for us with its two attachments. It has a log grapple/pallet fork combo, and a clamshell bucket with bolt on digging teeth. Best part is it’s CAT, so we have access to all parts and service literature through our jobs. Very excited about this one!

Another 230 Timberjack parts skidder, a Waterous planer, and a Beaver 49 planer. Also brought the mill building home and a self aligning feed deck that we will use to transfer boards into the edger.

Both 230 TJ skidders have been abandoned for now. We picked up a 404TJ, went through the engine and repaired it to put it back into service last November. Ran it for a bit and then had transmission troubles. At that time a family friend contacted me and said he had a 380 TJ and a pile of parts of I wanted them. So we wound up with it and we’re just wrapping up putting it into service today.

We got the green mill running in June and made a number of improvements on it right away.

We wound up making a few contacts with a big OSB producer here and we are going to horse trade small wood for oversized from them. This necessitated a bigger headsaw. I also started a new job in April and the welder on my crew happened to have just the machine we needed. It’s a Coutts headrig with top saw, three headblock hydraulic carriage with cant kick off, slab conveyor, chain infeed, chain turner, 6” Coutts bull edger and a saw cab! So we’ve been slowly moving it home and will be rebuilding it over the next year or so.

If we keep it up Richie Bros will make some money anyways. Ha ha.
