What carb is on this saw?

What is the venturi diameter?

Carl or Randy, are either of you willing to measure the intake boot and spigot on the cylinder? Dimensions would be helpful for guys looking for a work-around.

I'll have the carb off again. I'll measure it......

Repped.

What do you think about taking the head of the plate screws down some?

I'm machining some other stuff now. :(

Let me tell u in just a bit. I ground the heads of a little flatter and shortened the bolts just a tad so when they went threw the we're flush I stead of hanging out. Headed back out to get me a load of wood before the big snow storm hits. Lol.

The 500P and 044 10 pin will be humping for me the rest of the day!

O will tell ya I'm chicken to bore the venturi as I did one and while it ran good at wot. It made it funky to start and jacked with the low end! I guess where I'm going with this is not what I want in a work saw.

Alright. Here we go. The epoxied intake saw was still holding it's rpm just a little better at the end if the day. But that said. I think for a work saw!!

Having the exhaust at 108 with around 15 degrees blowdown and leaving the intake alone is gonna make anyone smile.

The epoxied intake well it maybe awesome if you wanna find a bigger venturi carb. But these are fine runners and I wanna recap the trans. There not fun at all. Lol.

Thank you Randy for going threw all this with me. It was fun!

Good thread, I really liked following along. I ran Matts 500p today, and one things for sure, it would be hard to go backwards peformance wise.

The 600s bore is only 1mm larger, at 45mm. Be careful cutting the squish band or piston, they freeport real easy. Its a good thing they have decent compression stock.

What was it you put the 600 piston in?

This saw needs more carb......I can't get past 13,500 or so on RPM.

For the sake of discussion, do you think the short blowdown is holding the saw back from higher rpm?

Do you feel moving the exhaust up to 104 and leaving the transfers at 124 would allow the saw to turn up a bit more?

Not sure really Josh. I'm afraid to take the exhaust higher. Might cut out.
